UW Problems
Hey,
I'm a W/Mo and i recently tried going into the underworld yesterday, but I found it MUCH harder than what I expected. I found myself taking (sometimes) more than 150 dmg a hit. I would have half health 1 second and would be dead the next. I have Droknars Knights armor set with a minor absorbtion and vigor in it and my max health is 510. What am I doing wrong? |

You aren't doing much wrong. A protection monk helps reduce damage a lot in UW, especially against the Aatxes. There are many options you can use such as have someone set blinding traps, melee wards, or cast protective spirit on you.
With a good prot monk casting prot. spirit on you, you won't take more than 51 damage per hit, which can be easily dealt with. Last edited by MechaStyle; Jun 22, 2005 at 04:36 PM // 16:36.. |

Are you trying to solo uw? It sounds like you are unless your heavy on protection and smiting your not going to have a chance soloing uw.

Bring a decent Air Elementalist to blind/weaken the Aataxe, and a protection monk to spam Aegis and stuff, makes it much easier .

Ok, this is completely and utterly off topic, but here goes...you said you had a minor absorbtion and a minor bigor, does that mean you can only attach one of each type on a character? so my elems armor with 3 fire runes and 2 energy storage isnt doing anything extra?

"He's a W/Mo, he can cast prot. spirit on himself. The mindless play of most W/Mo is really starting to piss me off."
Not everyone is well schooled in the various monk spells. Instead of belittling, why don't you actually provide some instruction? My suggestion to you is stop being a criticizer, and start educating. And as an educator, I would suggest to you to learn more about why the person is having an issue, diagnose the problem, then have suggestions that empower them to learn. |

Look for various warrior and monk spells that put limits on the damage or help with blocking/evading attacks. Several stances would work. There are monk spells that should help with limiting damage. However, you go too defensive, you may hamper your ability to do any sort of damage.

I play a w/mo, my build always has rez sig in pvp, or revive in pve (unless my guild leader is playing his mo/el character then I go for all damage). Furthermore, I always am healing up those if I am fine and they are hurting. Use healing breeze and orison of healing on them. During battles, w/mo should be focusing in on the themselves as they are the frontline of the attack, and may have gotten out of range of the monks (not a leroy jenkins charge, but an actual advance to hold off the agro).

Back on topic... Protection Monks save the day and a few good healers don't hurt either. |

W/Mo can use Protective Bond. Aegis helps a lot if monks cast it just prior to attack.
After that, it's up to your monks. |
